The Midland Bay Sailing Club is a non-profit, sailing cooperative in Midland, Ontario, Canada. We are located at the southern end of beautiful Georgian Bay, with immediate access to best freshwater sailing in the world.
The club provides great opportunities to enjoy Spectacular Cruising and Competetive Racing in a Friendly Community of Sailing Enthusiasts.
Our Sailing School provides instruction at all levels from neophyte to racer and our Racing program is very active with events for dinghy & keel boats, both at the Club and Inter-Club level. Interested in becoming a member?

Concerned about our Lake Levels? Read this and click the link if you want to help...
The IJC's study board has recommended a do nothing approach. Mayor Marshall is quoted in the Mirror saying, "Doing nothing is absolutely the wrong thing to do" adding that the potential economic impacts of falling Great Lakes water levels demands action from both the federal and provincial levels of government. Mary Muter of the Sierra Club's Great Lakes section echoed these sentiments and said in the absence of a viable plan of action from IJC, nothing will lead to a solution short of an immediate public uprising and full pressure on all levels of government by the public. Muter said a cost effective, well- engineered, viable solution is available, called sills or speed bumps. The proposal is for 50 Sills to be installed along the bottom of the St. Clair River to reduce the water flow, without impairing shipping or fish habitat. The cost: $100 - $200M Shared by the US and Canada, spread out over five years. USACE have authorization to place submerged sills in the St Clair River under an existing 1956 US-Canada agreement: the USACE Detroit offices could begin the necessary work with an initial injection of funds, so there is no need to wait while all the money is committed. There is a consensus building that immediate action is needed to address the untenable situation of sustained, and now record low water levels on Lakes Michigan and Huron/Georgian Bay. Historical Committee is looking for stories, newspaper clippings or photos to tell the story of the Midland Bay Sailing Club.
Photos of cruising, racing, pot lucks, pig roasts, simply all the fun that has been going on here since the sixties. All photos should include dates, places and people. We will copy all photos and return them to the owners. Don't forget to label the photos with your names too! And we are looking for burgees. Any burgees from any clubs.
