Youth Sailing
School 2008
What a great
way to spend your summer - on the water with other people your age,
developing your sailing skills. Our programs are fun, safe, and
exciting, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. All of our
program instructors are trained and certified by the Canadian
Yachting Association (CYA) and hold both First Aid and CPR
certification . While
on the water, our motorized coach boats are always nearby and of
course PFD's or lifejackets, which the sailors themselves must
supply, are mandatory at all times.
Boats,
Boats, Boats
Our youth
programs are offered in small sailboats called dinghies. They each
hold two to four participants. The White Sail program is offer in
Optimist Dinghies and CL14's while our Bronze program is in the
asymmetrical spinnnker Fusion 15's and a Wayfarer for traditional
spinnaker techniques. The Learn to Race program will focus on racing
skills and students will enter local races to hone their abilities.
Sailing School participants headquarters are the Dinghy Shed and the
large shade structure.
